AAFE’s Community Development Training Fellowship
AAFE is launching our inaugural Community Development Training Fellowship for the 2010-2011 academic year. The Fellowship will train and mobilize youth to connect with careers in comprehensive community development, with a focus on how issues such as affordable housing, small business development, transportation, civil rights, policy advocacy, and environmental sustainability affect local Asian American communities.

Participants will learn about the field of community development from a variety of perspectives through interactive workshops, mentorship and internship placements. Additionally, participants will build skills for community engagement and effective communication; and lead a community-based project from planning through implementation.

The Fellowship is open to all recent high school graduates and college students in the New York metropolitan area who have an interest in and commitment to community development, which includes the fields of urban planning, real estate, sustainable development, entrepreneurship, public policy, and community organizing, among others.
